Technique Tuesday - Crayon Resist

I just love this technique and it is simple too! The outcome is a gorgeous image.
Stamp your image in black or another dark color (I find Staz-on works best) onto a piece of glossy white cardstock. Take a white crayon and color/mark where you would want the white to be on your stamped image. Brayer or sponge over the image covering the entire glossy piece. Next take a tissue or napkin and wipe over glossy piece. This takes off all the crayon residue and leaves a beautiful image.
For this card I also put a circle on the card before I brayed. After braying I took the circle off and behold... a moon! Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by.

All rolled into one...

Technique Tuesday and Thankful Thursday I am posting together this week. This card is one that we did at our technique class a while back. The technique is bleaching. Didn't know you could stamp with bleach did you?! To do this technique just soak a piece of folded paper towel with bleach. Use as an ink pad and stamp on colored cardstock. You will gradually see the color leaving the cardstock and leave a beautiful faded image. Experiment with different colors of cardstock as the effect of the bleach varies according to the color of the cardstock. Rinse stamps on a water soaked paper towel and then condition by cleaning with Stampin’ Mist when finished. Happy Stamping!

Technique Tuesday

I thought I would show you different techniques on Tuesdays....Technique Tuesday. The first technique I want to show you is.........Faux Lantern. For this technique you stamp your image, color if desired, then run the stamped image thru the crimper. After you have crimped the image run the piece gently over the black staz-on ink pad (image side down). Then simply take a marker and in the grooves put little stitch marks. This particular one that I did reminds me of the rice paper blinds. I used the hostess Asian Artistry stamp set with Rich Razzleberry paper. This card is a gate card and so the other picture is of what the inside looks like.

Thankful Thursday.....a day late.

This card is done with Melon Mambo and Whisper White. A very simple card but very elegant looking. Don't you think? This design came from my upline Trina. Thanks Trina! I am off to a "play date" with my friend Pam, who is also a demonstrator. We are going to stamp away! Have a great day!

Back!

I have to apologize for not being on in so long. I really don't have a good excuse so I am not going to try to make one up! lol It is back to school and fall time! I have been busy planning a bunch of goodies to make for the Christmas season already! I will share them with you at a later date.

The new StampinUp! holiday mini catalog is now here! There are so many exciting items in this little catalog. I think my two favorite are the Sweet Centers w/cups and Build a Bear stamps and dies cuts. Just click on the buttons to the right on my blog to view any catalog and my calendar of events. Here are a couple of cards that I have made recently. The first one is using the Sweet Centers stamp set and treat cup. Isn't it just adorable? You can fill the little cup with anything (M&M's, Skittles, jelly beans, candy corn, etc.).

The second card is using the new Autumn Days stamp set and the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper. I just love the colors!
Stay tuned for more postings. I promise not to slack on them.
